Autonomous AI Compliance, Always On
Behind every AxiLayer AI engagement. AxiSentinel continuously monitors client AI systems against the frameworks that apply to them, including the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, and more, and surfaces what a human auditor needs to see, the moment it matters.
What It Is
AxiSentinel is designed, patented, and in development -- an autonomous monitoring architecture built specifically for continuous AI compliance evaluation. It is not a dashboard that displays numbers someone typed in. It is a live evaluation engine: agents capture system telemetry, AxiSentinel evaluates it against the specific regulatory framework that applies, and any threshold breach becomes a Provisional Alert -- flagged, timestamped, and routed to a certified human auditor for review.
Nothing AxiSentinel flags becomes a compliance finding until a qualified auditor signs it.
How It Works
Continuous by Design
Most compliance tools show you a snapshot. AxiSentinel runs continuously, which means the gap between "something changed in your AI system" and "someone qualified knows about it" shrinks from a quarterly review cycle to real time. Every alert AxiSentinel generates carries the specific regulatory citation it's evaluated against, the system it came from, and a full evidence trail -- so when a human auditor reviews it, they're reviewing evidence, not starting from scratch.
Intellectual Property
AxiSentinel's core architecture is protected by three USPTO provisional patent filings, priority date June 6, 2026: the RegDef Architecture, the Cryptographic Evidence Chain, and the Live Certification Registry. All three were filed ahead of any government funding or SBIR application.
The RegDef architecture encodes regulatory requirements as machine-executable detection logic distributed to autonomous agents. Covers fourteen regulatory frameworks including the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, and Colorado AI Act. Automatically updates when regulations change.
RegDef ArchitectureA twenty-six-field Audit Telemetry Event schema linked into a Merkle evidence chain. Includes the HUMAN_OVERSIGHT_GAP detection algorithm and air-gap .axibatch format for classified environments. Post-quantum cryptographic agility built in.
Cryptographic Evidence ChainA four-state certificate finite state machine driven by continuous compliance telemetry. The first OCSP-equivalent for AI compliance certification. Real-time public verification API. Quantified risk exposure monetization engine.
Live Certification RegistryAxiSentinel™ and the AxiSentinel architecture are the subject of three U.S. patent applications filed June 6, 2026. No patent has yet been granted. Patent pending. AxiSentinel is a trademark of AxiLayer AI, Inc.
Platform Capabilities
AxiSentinel operates across every deployment environment where AI systems run -- cloud, on-premises, mobile, and classified air-gapped facilities.
Intercepts every AI inference event. No sampling. No gaps. No human intervention required between regulatory updates.
Tamper-evident Merkle chain links every audit record. Post-quantum cryptographic agility included. Evidence is defensible on day one.
Continuously measures and quantifies gaps in human oversight of AI decisions. Quantified as a composite HOGS score across five dimensions.
The .axibatch binary format enables continuous audit evidence generation in disconnected and classified environments with no network connectivity required.
RegDef packages currently encode obligations across 16+ regulatory frameworks globally, including:
New jurisdictions are added by encoding new RegDef packages, without modifying deployed agents.
Real-time OCSP-equivalent certificate status. VALID, CONDITIONAL, SUSPENDED, or REVOKED -- verified in under 100 milliseconds.
As AI systems shift from generating outputs to taking autonomous action, calling tools, and coordinating with other agents, RegDef packages extend to agentic-specific governance frameworks, evaluating tool permissions, action logs, escalation protocols, and inter-agent communication against emerging autonomous-AI oversight standards.
Extends continuous evaluation to embodied and physical AI systems, including industrial robotics and autonomous machinery, evaluating AI decision-making against both AI-specific governance frameworks and established physical safety standards for equipment operating near human workers.
Regulatory frameworks for autonomous AI agents are emerging worldwide, from the EU to South Korea to China. AxiSentinel's human-sign-off architecture, requiring a certified auditor to cryptographically approve every Compliance Passport, was designed from the outset to meet exactly this kind of oversight requirement, wherever in the world it takes shape.
Performance
Continuous compliance only works if it keeps pace with production AI. AxiSentinel evaluates, signs, and broadcasts at machine speed, so evidence is generated in line with each AI decision rather than reconstructed afterward.
AI Security
AxiSentinel does more than record what an AI system did -- it watches for the ways AI systems are attacked and degraded. The same agent that generates compliance evidence also defends the model stack against manipulation, poisoning, and drift.
Identifies and blocks manipulated or spoofed inputs to perception and decision AI before they can corrupt a model's output.
Every model update is re-certified against all applicable frameworks before deployment is authorized, so a poisoned update never reaches production.
Catches model drift and guardrail breaches in real time -- surfaced and evidenced before they would ever appear in a regulatory review.
Monitors the full AI stack for phishing attempts and anomalous agent behavior, extending compliance monitoring into active threat intelligence.
Extends behavioral monitoring to detect AI-generated synthetic media, including voice cloning and deepfake video used in impersonation and social-engineering attacks against AI systems and the organizations operating them.
Deployment
AxiSentinel's AXI-Node agent deploys in your environment without modification to your AI system's core components. Read-only. Lightweight. No vendor lock-in.

Government and Defense
AxiLayer AI is a registered federal vendor with an active CAGE Code (20JV1) and UEI (CB76ENDLMUC9), registered in SAM.gov for All Award types since June 3, 2026. We support federal procurement officers, prime contractors, and defense agencies pursuing AI governance and compliance under NIST AI RMF, DoD AI Ethics Principles, and applicable federal AI policy.
AxiSentinel's air-gap and classified environment capabilities make it uniquely suited for defense AI assurance requirements where network connectivity to external infrastructure is prohibited.
Our structural independence from all AI vendors, platforms, and technology providers ensures our assessments are defensible to government oversight bodies and Inspector General review.
Why This Matters
AxiSentinel is built and operated exclusively by AxiLayer AI, an independent AI assessment body with no commercial relationships with any AI vendor. AxiLayer AI is pursuing ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation as a Type A inspection body through a U.S.-based accreditation body that is a signatory to the ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement. Accreditation has not yet been granted.
